Canadian Sailing Team for 2002

At a press conference held Jan. 17, 2002, the Canadian Yachting Association announced the names of the 47 highest ranked sailors who will tackle their training regimen with new enthusiasm, new uniforms and an expanded coaching staff. They have their sights set on Olympic medals in Athens 2004 and have a plan to get there. They also have a new logo and image to present for an ambitious marketing and fund-raising campaign. According to CYA President, Fiona Kidd of Toronto: "This new image for our team will provide a vital part of the energy needed to help send Canadian sailors to the podium in Athens in 2004." The Canadian Europe Sailing Team is made up of the following athletes: Rachel Dennis - Nova Scotia; Magalie Bonneau-Marcil - Quebec; Claudia Strobele - Ontario; Stephanie Taylor - Quebec.
